When consulting helps
- You are about to commission a system but aren’t sure whether to build, buy or outsource.
- Your system is getting slower and harder to change, and you need to know whether to optimize or rebuild.
- The team is growing but throughput isn’t, and the bottleneck isn’t obvious.
- You’re investing in or acquiring a company with technical assets and need an independent view.
- Leadership has asked for “digital transformation” and nobody can articulate step one.
How we run it
- Discovery (3-5 days). Interviews with business owners, engineering leads and individual contributors, plus reading the code, the monitoring and the process.
- Analysis (1-2 weeks). Locate the real bottleneck and separate technical problems from organizational ones — technology cannot fix a management problem.
- Recommendation (1 week). Two or three viable paths, each with its cost, timeline, risk and the conditions under which it makes sense.
- Presentation. A full readout for decision makers, so the conclusion is understood and actionable.
Our principles
We don’t run consulting to sell development. If the conclusion is “you don’t need a rewrite, you need two indexes and a cache tier,” that is what the report says. A consulting report is worth something only if it is honest.
Recommendations must be executable. Every suggestion carries the headcount, duration and rough budget it implies — not just “consider adopting microservices.”
Fees
Priced by scope; a typical architecture review runs 2-4 weeks. If you subsequently engage us for implementation, a portion of the consulting fee is credited back.
